I hope everyone has a great summer! Make the most of it, you deserve it! Xoxo! <3
Motivational quote of the week: "There are no limits to what you can accomplish, except the limits you place on your own thinking" - Brian Tracy. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Motivational quote of the week, "It always seems impossible until it is done." - Nelson Mandela. These are the types of quotes that actually tend to bring out the motivation that we tend to lose sometimes. I've been struggling with this myself, so I wanted to share it with you all. I hope all is going well. Have a great week!
Motivational quote of the week: "Don't watch the clock. Do what it does. Keep going."
I know that a lot of us are really stressed about school work, but some quotes just help let us know that we are not alone.

Motivational quote of the week: "It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop" - Confucius.
I just felt the need to include a motivational quote because NC students need it.

All I wanted to do was fill up the blank screen with my thoughts and emotions and let other people read it and see if they find pieces of themselves in my writing. I realized how important this was. I realized it because I noticed that while reading specific novels, I find myself in a good portion of the content. Sometimes, I feel like I'm the character that's being described in the story. I guess this is one of the main reasons I've been in an accelerated Language Arts class since middle school. Literature is the only subject that I find important in education. Why? Because it's the only subject where people can actually figure out who they really are.
Of course, this blog will not nearly be as descriptive as my Turkish blog. Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid to speak my mind to all of my friends. In fact, why would I start this blog if I didn't want my voice to be heard? I don't know how to put this into words but when you're foreign and you speak a different language, and that language is your mother tongue, everything you say, do, or write makes better sense in that language. To me, writing in Turkish makes me feel like a best-selling author. Even though that's not necessarily the case, a lot of people from many different countries have complimented my writing in different ways.
The thing is, I never really knew why I've been so interested in writing. There were many moments in my life where I felt that writing was my way of escaping and being myself without being judged. I felt free while writing. People come and go but what they say to you will always stick with you for the rest of your life.
When I was in 4th grade, I had a super cool teacher. But at the same time, she was pretty harsh with grading. I always thought to myself, "How can an Elementary school teacher be so strict with grading?" So I asked her one day...
She laughed. She smiled. And she said, "Well sweetie, you see, life's about being on time with your decisions. For example, if you learn to turn in your work on time, you won't be late to work in the future. If you learn to complete a 100-question multiplication test in a given time period, you will learn that once you work out the harder problems, the easier ones will be a piece of cake. It all prepares you for something, I swear." I was absolutely amazed. Of course, at that time, I probably rolled my eyes behind her back and couldn't really comprehend the true meaning of what she wanted to say. But in this day and age, I really hope that there are more teachers like that in the world.
Aside from Literature, I learned to develop feelings at a very young age. I know what I'm writing may sound weird now, but I will further explain what I'm trying to say.
Young me always questioned many factors regarding the environment I was a part of. For example, whenever I had to go to concerts for Chorus, or had to be a part of a parade for dance, I would always think about my friends family's. Especially at my Chorus concerts, I would think to myself how grateful I really am for the parents I have. Whenever I contemplate on these past memories, I remember how much of an interpretive child I have been throughout my life. The littlest things meant the most to me and I was the type of person to be happy in any kind of circumstance. Still to this day, people always ask me why I'm so happy all the time. The thing is, I have no reason and no right to be upset. If I let the littlest things get to me, then how strong will I react to the things that will actually upset me? I like to believe that I've been reasonable with my reactions up to this point in my life. How can I not be grateful when God has blessed me with amazing people who work so hard for my happiness? I don't let negativity get to me in any way because I know that there are enough of those people in this world. The thing is, the world isn't suppose to be a dark place. Sure enough, the cause of this darkness is people, not the world itself.
Let me tell you all upright... I have faced darkness in some way. I have been in the tunnel thinking there was no escape because it was too dark in the first place, and how was I suppose to reach the light at the end of the tunnel? But when you think about it, if you don't want to be, you don't have to be a part of that tunnel. You are a light yourself, and you can lead yourself to wherever your heart wants to take you. Will you always make the smartest choice? No. But will you find your own path and learn which road will take you to live your happily ever after? Absolutely.
Truth is, everyone faces darkness. But not everyone can realize that all of this is in their very own hands. I encourage you to think about this...

My main goal today is to give you all tips about how to be successful while taking any type of exam. As we all know, we are approaching the end of the school year and we need some type of a motivation to help us get through these last 3 weeks - which seem like 3 years from the eye of the students. So here are my tips for you!:
1. Study - Don't just study to study and say that you've studied, study so that you are prepared and you feel confident about your responses on the final.
2. Find something that motivates you - Studying and review sessions do not always have to be boring. Invite some friends, and have an achievable goal to study a certain amount of material, and then reward yourself & your friends with a special treat like Netflix and popcorn.
3. Be prepared - Exam day is already stressful, do not put extra stress on yourself. Bring proper writing utensils, paper, and calculator (if taking a math exam).
4. Breathe - While this test will determine most things, it is not going to determine your entire life. Take it easy and try your best. As long as you have tried your best, be proud of the outcome.
